Following in the huge success of recent projects, like Rickshawalas (2012) and Kilimanjaro trek (2013), CAREducation is pleased to present the CARE Peru Trek 2014, with the overall aim of encouraging charity work though adventure, to help raise funds for charitable education projects in India and Africa.
About the Trek
Grading – Tough – All participants should be physically fit and capable of walking for several hours a day on steep and rough terrain.
Trip Duration – 14-days from 31 August to 14 September (or 9th Sept if no volunteer project)
Group Size – Up to 25 people
Accommodation – Multi-share in standard hostel and tented accommodation
Summary – Following in the footsteps of early 20th century explorers, we cross the high Andes from the bustling colonial town of Cuzco to the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu. During our six day trek, we will pass through several terrains and ecosystems before reaching the fabled Machu Picchu historical site. After completing our Salkantay Trek we will base ourselves in a Peruvian community for a 5-day Volunteer Programme.
